Customer Safety & Preparation Guide
At MPS, safety is our highest priority. To ensure a safe and smooth delivery experience, please follow these important guidelines when preparing for and receiving your fuel delivery:
1. Preparing for Delivery
- Clear the Area: Ensure that the delivery area is clear of any obstructions or obstacles that may block the truck’s path or the delivery area. This helps our pilots access your location easily and safely.
- Designated Delivery Spot: Designate a specific area for your delivery that is away from ignition sources, open flames, and smoking areas. Ideally, this area should be well-ventilated and easily accessible.
- Turn off Flammables: Turn off all engines and appliances near the delivery area, including generators, vehicles, and cooking equipment. Keep all flammable materials (e.g., gas cylinders, paint thinners) off and away from the delivery zone.
- Children Safety: Keep children indoors or away from the delivery area to prevent any accidents or interference during the delivery process.
2. During the Delivery
- Stay Indoors: If possible, remain indoors or at a safe distance during the delivery process. This minimizes your exposure to potential hazards and allows the pilot to focus on their tasks.
- No Smoking: Ensure that no one is smoking or using open flames near the delivery area. Fuel is highly flammable, and it’s crucial to eliminate any potential ignition sources.
- Electronic Devices: Avoid using your mobile phone or other electronic devices close to the delivery zone.
- Communicate Clearly: If you need to communicate with the pilot, do so clearly and from a safe distance. Provide any necessary instructions before the delivery begins and follow all instructions given by the MPS pilot.
3. What Not to Do
- Do NOT attempt to assist the pilot or handle the fuel hose.
- Do NOT allow children or pets near the fueling site.
- Do NOT operate engines, generators, or electronics during the delivery.
- Do NOT request fuel to be dispensed in unsafe containers.
4. After the Delivery
- Inspect the Delivery: Once the delivery is complete, inspect the area for any spills or leaks. If you notice any issues, inform the pilot immediately so they can take appropriate action.
- Follow Pilot Instruction: Wait for the MPS pilot to confirm that fueling is complete and safe before starting any engines.
- Proper Storage: If you have a fuel storage tank, make sure it is properly sealed and secure. Regularly inspect your storage tank for any signs of wear or damage.
5. Emergency Procedures
- Report Spills Immediately: In the event of a fuel spill, report it to MPS immediately. Our pilots are trained to handle such situations and will take the necessary steps to contain and clean up the spill.
- Emergency Contacts: Keep emergency contact numbers handy, including MPS customer support and local emergency services. In case of any emergencies, contact the appropriate authorities promptly.
- Evacuation: If there is a significant spill or any other hazardous situation, evacuate the area and follow the instructions provided by our pilot or emergency personnel.
6. General Safety Tips
- Follow Instructions: Always follow the instructions provided by MPS and our pilots. They are trained to ensure your safety and the safe handling of fuel.
- Regular Maintenance: Regularly maintain your fuel storage and handling equipment to ensure they are in good working condition. This includes checking for leaks, corrosion, or other potential hazards.
- Stay Informed: Stay informed about safe fuel handling practices and any updates from MPS. Knowledge and awareness are key to preventing accidents and ensuring safety.
